This map is based on a modern topographical map.  Urban sprawl and coastal land reclamation projects have drastically changed the appearance of this area from the time of the Korean War.

The sea approach to Inchon is represented at high tide.  Much of this area would be unnavigable mud flats at low tide.

Terrain colors.

Light green - clear terrain.

Light green with shading and surrounded by an orange contour line - high ground clear terrain.

Dark green surrounded by an orange contour line - high ground wooded terrain, passable to personnel and vehicles.  Coded as Rough 2.

Gray - urban.  Coded as Rough 2.

Red line - hard surface, primary road with two or more lanes.

Green double line - expressway.

Light blue with rice paddy map symbol - rice paddies.  Passable with dificulty to personnel and tactical vehicles.  Coded as Rough 3.

Light blue with marsh/swamp map symbol - marsh, wetland, or sewage treatment/disposal beds.  Passable  with dificulty to personnel and tactical vehicles.  Coded as Rough 3.

Medium blue - sea, pond, river, canal.

Faint white, double line across a river - uncoded bridge site.  Bridge markers should be manually placed on these sites by using the "Options/Engineering/ Build Bridge" menu item.
